C&I Engineer – Open

C + I Engineer:
 
Must have full driving licence and be within 1 hours commute of our site. Humbly Grove Energy Limited A Plant, Alton, GU34 5SY.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Lead projects to improve control and safety systems, designing and implementing updates as necessary.
Provide support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system integrity maintenance.
Oversee CAPEX & OPEX budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery of C&I projects.
Ensure Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) are fully compliant with safety standards such as IEC 61508 and 61511.
 
Experience & Qualifications:
HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering field or actively working towards it.
Experience in control system fault diagnosis and functional safety.
Experience in plant operations, particularly in the oil and gas industry, and strong knowledge of C&I design standards.
 
Salary for C + I Engineer is circa £45-60k dependent upon experience (salary not to be advertised)

The Asset Manager has provided the below to help question the candidate’s knowledge and experience:
 

1. Communication – Able to communicate (verbal & written) in English that is understandable for senior management level and so can be a representative of the company to external agencies (including the HSE) for business critical projects.
2. Design – Design experience (>2 years) either in instrumentation (preferred) & control, utilising basic engineering drawings relating to the C&I discipline.
3. Hazardous Areas – Design of electrical equipment installed within hazardous areas, certified CompEx 12A & 12B or demonstrable experience of following the same processes without the certification.
4. Functional Safety – Design of safety instrumented systems & safety instrumented functions, SIL verification calculations, certified TUV or demonstrable experience of following the same processes without the certification.
5. Engineering life cycle – Directly involved in or some combination of front end design, EPC, installation & commissioning.
6. Control Systems – Programming or good understanding of at least two of the five programming languages per standards and how they are applied in industry.
7. Risk management – HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, Permit to Work, RAMS.
8. Contractor management – Work specifications, developing & agreeing contracts, supervising.
9. Procurement – Specifying equipment (data sheets), raising orders, chasing suppliers, reviewing QA documentation.
10. Operations & Maintenance support – troubleshooting & field support.
11. Team leader / senior / principal engineer.
12. Site experience – Working as a consultant, contractor, vendor or working directly for HGEL.
